Gents,

First post, so first off thanks to all the guys who contribute to this forum. I've solved many many problems on my T4 with your help.

I've got a 1.9 800 special

I'm having a bit of bother with my alternator. The oil and battery light came on, so I checked all connections (inc blue wire). Changed the alternator with a recon unit. That solved the problem for 100 miles or so. Then the lights started coming back on intermittently, then constantly.

Duf alt, I thought. Bought another. Same thing happens, it fixes the problem for a day or two, then it comes back!

What could be causing this? At £100 a pop it's starting to get a bit silly!

try multiplug in back of dash might of come loose. also were the two wires go back along the flexi conduit under the oil filter have a look at the condition of the sheathing. the oil gets in and makes wires go brittle.
