Guys, can someone help me with the way that the interior lighting is setup?

I think there is a shared earth which is connected with the door switches.
Does this mean that the standard interior lights are "always" powered?

Looking to add a few extra triggers (from my alarm) and adding a timer (NOT one within the dome light but my own) for keeping the lights on for 10 seconds. As well as adding some puddle finders to my wing mirrors.

Just wanted to get my head around how the lights are triggered. Am I right with my description?

Going to need to setup some timers and relays.... :)

Thanks peeps! T:

Hello,

the interior lights have constant 12V power on the red wire from fuse 21. The brown wire is dedicated earth, the brown/white wire is the wire to the door switches which provides an earth when the doors are opened. The sliding door and tailgate/barn door switches are on one circuit. The front two are on the TkmL circuit, and the yellow wire on the driver's door switch (which has two wires) are on the the TkoL.

The only thing to be aware of is that these wires (earth and main positive) are pretty thin (1.0mm2 and 0.5mm2 I think) so don't put too much load through them.
