T: hello, sorry about the question, but this is all new ground for me, i'm looking at 17" alloys, i carry myself, and the other five family members,(4 kids) and camping gear, a few times a year, apart from that its just me on the work run,she's been lowered 40mm on eibachs , i'm a bit confused by all the info on here, do i need aload index of 98?, would a good choice be 215 50 18, or somthing different, i really need to get it right first time as when i first got her i put 16's on with hugh commercial tyres on and they look far too chunky. so i cant afford to get it wrong again!! i'm looking for somthing a little sportier, but practical and safe, thanks for your help, gaz:*

I run 17" wheels with a 40mm drop. I have got 235.45.17 tyres on with a load rating of 97xl this also keeps the speedo fairly accurate.
I'm happy with this set up, but the higher the rating the better imho.
