just a thought? i've only set my pump to where it was before i renewed head gasket, and fitted new belts etc......

So i know i need to use vag com, but how do i set the pump timing exactly right on my 1.9 TDI??

and values or anything i need to know??

Obv you plug vag com in, loosen the 2 pump bolts behind cam cover, and crack off the one on the front of engine, then do it up again - im guessing you start engine, and loosen the front one off again, rotate pump till timing is right, then lock it off again??

this right??

where in vag com do i set it up?? - need to know asap, as im gonna be using vag com tomorrow and i'll ave a go at it then??

you want the vag scope bit of vag com ( engine> measuruing blocks>basic settings>vag scope)
you need the engine running for it to work, then you choose your engine type and a graph comes up which shows you if the timing is advanced or retarded

your engine needs to be up to temp or it wont work

if you only have the freewere vag com have a look at club tdi http://www.tdiclub.com/TDIFAQ/TDiFAQ-7.html theres a talk tru but it not as good as vag scope
