Hi guys,

i have bought a new o/s driveshaft and stub to see if it solves my clunk, im positive i can do the change and have the tools but just wondered how you actually remove it? is there anything to look out for? anything i shouldn't do?

Ive got the VW grease and new hub nut.

Also does the stub just pull out?

Ive had a good search on a how to but its mostly just people saying there shafts gone or that its a easy hour job just no how to's.

Just did mine and a basic run down:-
1. loosen hub nut before you jack up and remove wheel.
2. undo wishbone ball joint to hub, these are M14 multi spline.
3. undo drive shaft centre bearing mount and pull drive shaft from stub.
4. to remove stub there is a allen bolt in the middle that I think was 6mm, don't use a ball nose as they have been known to round off.
