Did exactly the same, only had insurance cancelled there and then.

We added windows and wheels then called to advise the insurance company only to be told they would not cover the mods, with no alternative offered by the broker we ended up having to cancel and source alternative.

I think the problem is with comparison sites, it's easy to get a quote for a van however when you need to add anything later (once they have your money ) their not interested.

Learnt the hard way too, you need a specialist insurance broker.

Adrian flux sorted ours in the end but you can try many off here, expect to have to cancel your old policy though with great financial loss :(

Theres a couple of specialist brokers on here mate...so grab a cup of tea and relax lol

I went with Dan at A-plan, they covered all the mods on mine (windows, seats, wheels re-map etc etc) and all future mods (suspension etc) me and the missus, fully comp protected for 400 all in.

There are others, Brentacre etc , most of whom are listed on here.... T:

Hi,

Congratulations on the new purchase.

We should be able to help no problem at all.

If you wanted to PM me your details I can arrange for our quotes team to get in touch.

Kind regards,
Dan.

Just had real nightmare with adrian flux would not recomend them to anybody and will definatly not be using when my renewal is due . Stay well away from this cowboy outfit. Premiums nearly doubled after taking my money from comparison site and now have told me they are cancelling my policy in seven days because my address on licence has not being changed from old address even though i sent utillity bills as requested. Save yourself the hastle and go elsewhere

I'm insured through Just Kampers and it's now renewal time. Went through all mods, including suspension, wheels and tyres, internal mods including bed, cabs, seats, gas and electrics AND an agreed valuation. The other half and I to drive on fully comp and it came to £389.30 with £100 excess. Didn't think that was too bad. The original insurance policy was for a van being modified so I didn't need to notify them of changes until renewal time as the policy covers the ongoing work.
