Thinking of getting some 17" or 18" alloys for my 1998 camper like the look of those on the Just camper web site .I have had good dealings with them but can anyone tell me if these would be a good buy or should I keep looking for a better deal.

It,s all new to me and I am getting thicker by the day

Saw what happened to a set of alloy wheel copies made from swiss cheese, scary stuff. I think I will have to invest in load rated alloys i.e Palm automotive. My partner drives the van a lot more than me in the week and always has our five month old son with her. To quote my dear old dad "better be safe than sorry" and "buy cheap buy twice"

I know many people that have had no problems, but I am the kind of guy that falls into a barrel full of **** and comes out sucking his thumb.

Thats the prob lots of wheels fit a T4 and are sold as such. It doesnt mean they have a commercial rating. Estemos were fitted to the caravelle as standard, but thats a caravelle. The ones I got from Palm have a weigh rating of 900kgs.

I believe that Estemos were also available as an option from VW on panel vans.

Don't mess about get the correct load rating and off set otherwise your insurance company will walk away from you in a claim and wrong off set will do your steering in and not be cmfortable to drive, go to an alloy wheel specialist, some good ones on E bay. And don't buy cheap tyres

I too have been looking at wheels and have had trouble getting tyres with a decent rating for my van, the problem I (and others too I guess)have, is that as 1200 capacity van (although with lighter springs on the back now it wouldn't carry that) the tyres should still IMHO come up to the plate value. I 've decided that probably the easiest way to do this is fit 17" and get a much greater choice of tyre, will see how the cash goes and then maybe someone will get my 18" RS6's for a good price !
