My new carpets arrive from Mega Van Mats on monday and I will be making a start. I intend carpeting the metal work first, then putting carpeted boards over the top. I have a tin of brushable HT adhesive coming too.

So what is the best way of doing the metal work?

I guess it will be done in sections?

I intend starting with the metal work along the roof by the headliners, then doing the verticals before finishing up at the floor. So how cleanly do the joins go?

What's the best method?

overlap the edges and cut down the middle of the overlap with a sharp carpet fitters (hooked) stanley blade would be the standard way T:

same! Until a carpet fitter explained it to me! Apparently it stopps too much snag / drag

However for our use I recon a normal blade would do. SHARP though - keep them fresh :)
