The other option is to use the (more expensive) resistors that have a fixing hole - similar to these ;

Hmmm - I'd have thought that they would not have got too hot when fixed to the bodywork & the wiring easy to keep out of the way.

i didnt get round to fixing it to the bodywork

& there lies the problem - these resistors are desiged to be mounted onto a surface that will help to dissipate the heat.

You may be able to extend the wiring to them or mount them under the bonnet near the front or side indicators (as long as they are on the indicator circuits it does not matter where they go).

Some LED units have the resistors built in.
