Hi All,

Im looking at buying some new wheels for my van- a 1996 1.9td.

I have found some 17" VW alloys at a good price, but the tyres have a load index of 94 (94W). The load index tables say this is 670kg...

Will this be ok for my van?

Cheers,

Toby

Yes unless your carrying loads of weight..

I run 97 rear and 95 front on my Caravelle which is a tad heavier than a stock panel van T: I've run lots of different tyres on lots of different vans and always stay above 92..

You should be fine unless its a full convertion :ILU:

But loads of T4 guys are running a lower index rating than what's recommended..!

Check the tyre size, i suspect that they are 225/45r17, which is too small (should be 225/50 or at least 235/45).
Also, some earlier 5 stud VW wheels are 5x100 - these will not fit!!
