got 3 dead 18v L-ion batteries here and I've read on tinternet that once the charger finds a fault three times hey are paper weights :(

SO has anyone got a spare one they don't use, could possibly buy a drill aswell if the price is cheap enough :)

It's for, erm, doing my conversion, thus is van related :D

Had one of mine die after about 4yrs of use - not daily use, but reasonably regular. I bought a new one and some extras, cost me about £70 each I think :( but at least I knew they were new. Your local makita dealer should be able to do you a deal / split a kit

I get all my Makita stuff from RM Tools in town. £65+vat for bats and cheapest drill set is about £180 if memery serves me.

As for refurb, only found info on the older 24v bats. If you find a way for the new 18v ones then I have 2 or 3 dead ones here. :(

They usually die just after a year old for me. They get daily use though.

I got a price from a battery specialist and he quoted £70 per battery. Cheaper to buy new ones. A chippy at work has bought some copies from eBay, he reckons there the same quality and cost about £25 each.
