In theory, you could fit a 6 speed tiptronic auto from the same period (2003-2009) but I doubt anyone has done it before, so it won’t be easy.
One of the members here did it some time ago (having said that it may have been an auto to manual conversion). However, he did have the two vehicles side by side in a large workshop. He did say "never again".

The 174PS (5 cylinder engines) were never designed to accept a DSG gearbox. You'd need to fit a tip tronic slushbox. It costs about ÂŁ3500 to fit a 6 speed manual to a 5 speed manula van. You'd need to swap the dash, wiring, controllers, a pile of cooling system too. It'l easily double the cost. Is it not easier to trade your van in? I presume you have a lot of toys on your present van? Maybe swap all those bits into a new van and sell yours in basic form??
