To celebrate the anniversary of Mike Hawthorn becoming the 1st British Formula 1 World Champion in 1958 I have put together an MSA backed event...

Just for you - I've opened the event up to include MPV's and Minibuses of upto 8 Passenger Seats (which may give you camper fans an unfair advantage!!!)

Hawthorns of Farnham, All Borders Motorsport and Guildford Motor Club have joined forces again to organise the first…

Mike Hawthorn 24 hour Challenge - Sponsored by Hawthorns of Farnham

In memory of the first British Formula One World Champion in 1958

Starting and finishing at Barfield School, Runfold, Farnham, GU10 1PB.

Friday 19th October Signing on 09:00am Start 10:30am
Saturday 20th October Finish 10:30am Results from noon

The results announcement and prize giving will take place at the Barley Mow, Tilford in association with the Mike Hawthorn Appreciation Society, where a lunch will be provided for those who enter.

This charitable event is a “Navigational Scatter” for 12 – 15 teams to visit 15 out of 21 selected motorsport venues in England and Wales within a 24 hour period. Team entries may be made by MSA affiliated clubs, the Services, and Private teams of the public. The Entry List is open from now and closes on Friday October 12th 2012. Sat Nav devices will be required for navigation and mobile phones (with camera) will be needed to post progress photographs to www.facebook.com/MikeHawthorn24HourChallenge throughout the event. Photographic evidence of each visit will be required and penalties will be given for lateness at the finish!

The challenge is for the teams to procure, along the way, suitable and worthy auction lots in readiness for our Mike Hawthorn Celebration event that is planned for April 2013. Prizes will be awarded - at the judge’s discretion - for the most imaginative items collected.

Cost of entry per team is £500 (minimum), which can be raised through sponsorships and donations. The beneficiaries will be Phyllis Tuckwell, Barfield School’s Mike Hawthorn Memorial Sports Hall Owl Fund, and the All Borders Motorsport Charitable Trust. All competitors will receive a limited edition Jaguar goody bag, kindly donated by Jaguar Classic Parts.

Please complete and send this slip with the entry fee of £500 (minimum) per team to:

Jonathan Sproule, Hawthorns of Farnham, 8 Station Hill, Farnham, GU9 8AA

(Cheques should be made payable to All Borders Sport Charitable Trust)
