Thought I'd be the first to get a 2012 date on the calendar...

The Mike Hawthorn private collections have agreed to open their doors to us, so the Surrey Hants division aka All Borders Motorsport are organising a cruise - sorry classic vehicle trail - through the Surrey/Sussex/Hants borders.

The event will start at Mike Hawthorn's prep school - Barfield School, in Farnham - and is a joint venture between the charity - the All Borders Motorsport Charitable Trust (set up by the Surrey Hants region of this forum) - and the school itself, and will possibly opening up a new venue for future motoring events and motorsport activities.

We are inviting all local clubs to join us on this jaunt which will raise funds to build the school's new sports hall in Mike Hawthorn's memory.

The day will include nibbles on the way round, and will finish back in Farnham with an evening buffet and charity auction of things money can't buy.

So, watch this space for more info...

Oh yes - the date for the Mike Hawthorn Classic - Sunday 15th April 2012 - that's the last weekend of the Easter Hols...

Cheers

Steve

50 cars have entered of all ages and types including the first car that Mike Hawthorn raced in - a Riley Imp...

This is an MSA Touring Assembly, run by Guildford Motor Club, which Mike Hawthorn belonged to back in the 1950's...

We will be starting with a parade through Farnham Town at around 9:30 next Sunday, and then heading off towards Dorking, via Shalford, Bramley, Wonersh, passing through Cranleigh at around 10am and then onto Ewhurst. After a short detour around the Surrey Hills we will be running up the A24 from Beare Green up to the roundabout just south of Dorking and then off into the wilds of Surrey again...
