MOT severe fail - possible to repair in Manchester/West Yorks?

My 1997 T4 2.5tdi LWB has failed its MOT with:

Integral body structure has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of a body mounting
for each of Nearside Front Outer (sill), Nearside Front Inner (sill), Nearside Read Inner (sill)
Integral body structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced Offside rear (rear crossmember)

The garage I had it MOT'd at cannot fix it, in particular - the rear crossmember. Are there any other garages currently open in Manchester/Huddersfield/Leeds area that could fix it? (or in your humble opinion is it not worth fixing)

Many thanks in advance for advice and opinions

t4's rust, if you repair it'll need doing again in a year or more...

I've seen some horribly rotted t4's & advised their owners/customers against wasting good money on repairing, '96-'97 model years seem to disolve at an alarming rate o_O

is it worth looking for another van that has less rot?

Rich. (& yes, I weld professionally)

Do you think getting it fixed for 500 quid or so is possible?
how long is a piece of string?

I've no idea what £rates are in your area but an hour's welding can involve 2-5 hours prep work (depending on the job & the surrounding vehile)
£500 could easily go on a day(y)

if interior or mecanical parts have to be removed for access OR fire-safety then this adds to the time taken..
then, if bodywork / filler & paint add another figure into the pot ;)

nobody can quote blind...
