as the title realy
its a 97 2.5 tdi acv
and it has smelled since ive had the van 18 months it still works so im hoping its not a leak

any bright ideas??

Go to halfauds and buy some "Comma air con cleaner" and spray it down the intake while the fan is on full blast.

It kills all that nasty bacteria/Fungus

If it was leaking it just wouldn't work

Worked when I used it on an evo.

Apparently the evaporator gets trapped water in it that gets mouldy - If you use it all the time it dosent happen.

Spray any antifungal nice smelling stuff down it and it's bound to improve it.

Have you changed the pollen filter too.. old pollen filters can make your blowers smell

halfords do a air con thing that you leave in side put the air con on recirculate and close the doors for 10 min.

it sould have helped. If you've got standard air con your lucky, I've got the climatronic, and it closes off vents by its self....when it wants. So I don't think it does as good a job.
