Always thriving to make my bus a MULTI use van, I wanted a full size easy to remove and erect bed frame for weekends away when required......it's 5 feet wide and 6ft 6 long and with the memory foam topper...well pleased with my first attempt!

How thick is the ply you used, ive been toying with a similar idea but a fixed box with a hinged lid. This would sty in the van as kind of a boot space and probably house a leisure battery and the parts to build the front of the bed.

Ive looked at kombi beds but they are all to high up as they use the seats as part of the build, mine will be for use with the seats out.

18mm ply as anything thinner flexes to much for my liking, takes less than a minute to set up which I like, and all the storage I need by lifting up the last 3 wooden beams to access!T:

Yep great minds!

I'vebeen at it for a few weeks but got busy at work now so it's taking a back seat for a couple of weeks, basically it all works and now I've cut holes in it to lighten it, covered it with Fablon, and T trimming it all. It's having a stutter in the design as I'm thinking of fitting a bunk across the back of the van for one of the kids , another will have the cab bunk. I like your bed slats, just like in my caravan
