:confused: desperate to found a solution to my 2.5 TDI caravelle
my rear brakes stick on the disk making the car very heavy on the road
i'm in south france and don't have any idea how i'm gona make it back home.
a mecanic told me is caliper problem but the two side on same time:*
can any one help:(

Hi!

Yes, it is very very likely a sticky caliper or calipers
U should dismantle them, clean & lube guide pins along with the area which guides the pads
If this is very corroded or otherwise messed up, it could very well affect the brakes.
The fix is not too bad. As long as the brakes are apart, U could replace the pads too assuming U are a fair mechanic.
I wouldn`t worry too much for now :)

the caliper arm that accomdates the handbrake cable sticks on mine...

did it 400 mile away from home in the highlands of scotland.

so by the side of the road i slid underneath loostened the handbrake cable, removed the cable from the caliper arm. then aquired a can of 'lube' then pushed and pulled on the arm until it was free, replaced everything.

it got me home. :)

unfortunately, the sticking arm burnt out my rear pads so they had to be replaced when i got home.
