Help/Advice please.
My T5 has developed an annoying noise seeming to originate from under the drivers seat/floor pan.
It only happens at speeds above 45mph.
Reving the engine doesn't change the noise.
It sounds like a light metallic 'ting, ching, ching, ting' noise.
It's not a bearing/bush/DMF type of noise. Not tools knocking/sun glasses shaking etc etc. I've erradicated all those. Had bulkhead out..., ply floor up, all coins/screws,pens etc removed from under all seats. All wiring/plugs secured under seats too.
The local garage found the noise but coudn't fix it.
Although they reckoned it was OK I think it is the exhaust heat shield. It's that type of noise. Could this be the culprit even if it looks OK?
It has done 122K miles and looks like original exhaust so was wondering if the baffles were going but as enging revs don't affect it i'm not so sure.
I'm at a loss what else to try and it's doing my nut! See More

There is a lot of galvanised sheeting under the T5 so highly likely it could be that but you'll have to remove the plastic underguards to check.
