Hey everyone,

I've got a Caddy Maxi Life (08) I want to sell to make way for a T5 and was wondering if anyone knew of any buyers in the market for these.

I have outstanding finance (probably just a bit less than the vehicle is worth) and so know that a private sale can be a complicated.

Life would be easiest for me if a buyer that understood these cars came along and offered a decent price.

Any advice?

Thanks

Dex

As you have outstanding finance technically the motor doesn't belong to you, so you will need a settlement figure and authority to sell from the loan company. Provided these details are available to the buyer should be no problem. I bought a motor off a guy and paid one cheque to the finance company and one to the bloke (after of course I spoke to the loan company). The secret is honesty T:

i bought my van of a lad that was selling coz he lost his job it was on volkswagon finance and i as the buyer had to make a "fair market offer" to vw and they choose weather it goes or not ,i offered a grand less than all the rest on autotrader at the time and vw accepted the lad just handed me the key:)

i would be part ex,ing mate or you could end up loosing out a lot

Thanks all.

I have a settlement figure, I know what I owe.

I reckon its worth more than I owe so I just want a simple no nonsense sale without drama.

If one of my mates wants it I can do the whole payment to the finance company thing no issue.

If not I'd ideally be looking for someone in the trade who understands the vehicle and is in the market to buy.

I'm not bothered about making to much. I just want rid so I can get a T5.

Thanks again.

Stick it on www.vwcaddy.com
don't be detered by the ".com" it's very much a brit populated site, you can either pay a £5 fee to allow you to advertise the sale or I could probably put the ad up for you for free, it's up to you buddy
if you want me to do the latter just send us pictures and a draft for the advertisement and i'll wack it up for you.. I'm sure someone will be interested

Hi m8
If youve done over half the term of the finance agreement, you can ask the finance company to take the vehicle back, Providing that its in good condition.. check your finance agreement for the terms..
I did this about 10 yrs ago with a ford escort GTI (pile o sprite) lol had it 2 yrs then wrote a nice letter to the finance company..
I was actually advised this by a ford salesman!!

Good luck either way you choose to go.
