Hy there to all of you,
For two years ago I bought our T5 second hand. But now blocked in P I have a serious problem.
Does this sound familiar to anyone:
P173400 and also U010300
Any suggestions?
This occurred after an empty battery, which was only one year old and after charging I had this problem.

Have you tried clearing the codes to see if they come back? A lot of codes can be logged when the battery goes flat but can be cleared once the battery is replaced / recharged.

Just out of interest, if it is ACTUALLY blocked, would clearing the codes also unblock it, or do you need to manually unblock first AND then clear the codes?

It took me some time and effort to be able to respond with adequate information.

@fwd:
The manual reset suggestion failed
I don't have an answer to your question: just out of interest - - -

@64 SPLIT:
removing codes didn't help. And my battery is charged.

So thanks for your input

The Can Gateway malfunction would be of concern to me - does this have any specific code against it? VCDS will allow you to scan it properly - some generic OBD scanners aren't able to properluy interrogate to provide full info/scan results.

And oh yes! some preliminary information.
The T5 comes from Sweden (this maps recorded temperatures of -40°C)
At around 68,000 km, the automatic transmission was replaced under warranty and later at approximately 165,000 km, the entire engine was also replaced.
I was not (yet) aware of problems with this type of engine.
It was only after a defective radar in the bumper that I heard from Denis Veldt from Castricum, Holland (link: Dennis Veldt – Garage & Speedshop Black8) what was going on.
As soon as he looked at the license plate form, he recognized the engine code and said "You have a problem".
He advised me to contact TSC de Betuwe b.v. in the Netherlands too.
