Got a new cd player for me work van for x mas, has the original cassette player fitted at the moment, it's an 03 t4. Do I need a vw wiring connector bit so I can plug in the new stereo to the existing wiring? Thanks.

No, should just plug right in. Dependent on the make of cd player you might have to swap red and yellow on the cd wiring, see if it will work with the ignition and store presets etc.
