But i dont want to go down to 40 profile

Does anyone know if a 235/50/18 101y would be ok to use with a 50mm drop
Using t4srus green springs at moe

Depends on the offset and width of the rim bud. Personally i would be going for 225 45 18 because they will look good, give good protection and have a reasonable load rating T:T:

Hi its the profile that will give you protection and not the width, you need some give in the sidewall of the tyre. Its a fine line between looks and comfort but i would recommend the 45 minimal for comfort and still looks a low profile, 50 would look like balloons and may rub if you have lowered suspension especially if you have a 235/50 18 so it has to be 225/45 18 as jimmyjames recommends and thats what i run on my velle, but im a old git and gone for the comfort and practicality of 18s.LOL:

I used to run 225/50/18 ET37 with a 40mm drop and they rubbed during hard cornering. Personally i think 225(or 235,245)45/18 looks best and will give the comfort factor you're looking for.

My van is lowered 50mm. I got 18x8.5 with 35et. I run 225/40/18 at the moment which has a tiny bit of stretch. But next time im going for 225/45/18. Its a lwb and with the 40 profile i feel they wheels and tyres dont fill the arches enough. Im not saying this is what you have to do though. Everyone likes different.
