I've changed the bulbs, checked the fuses... and I've just read about the brake light switch... is this easy to see/check?

should be easy to see. it will be at the upper side of the brake pedal inside. and checking with a multi meter shouldnt be to hard bud. dont think they are that dear either. T:

To set the brake light switch:-

Remove switch from pedal box.

Pull the plunger out as far as it will go! (one loud click)

Press the brake pedal down, and keep it there.

Replace brake light switch.

NOW let go of the brake pedal. (you should hear a series of little clicks)

Job done.

Check to see if the bracket that the brake switch is mounted on is not broken/loose.
While you are there press the clutch pedal with your hand if there is any movement from the clutch master cylinder then you need to consider changing the pedal box.

If you don't mind me asking, what colour was the switch?
I tried to buy a new one a few months ago & they were green. Mine was black.
The green ones didn't work at all. No brake lights.
