Hello, I have my first VW T5 and I am loving it. Only problem is this noise when I reduce the pressure on the accelerator and then again about 15 seconds after turning the engine off. It seems to get worse when the engine is hot, like when I am in traffic etc. I have heard something about an exhaust fume pipe....could it be that? If so, what do I need to do to fix it? :*

Probably the "moo" valve, think it's N17, mine has been doing it for 4 years but never worried about it...could be wrong though. I:

I researched this last night and think it may be the same thing. Think it's N75 valve? If I got the van remapped would this stop the 'mooing'?

If it is a faulty N75 valve then it won't be cured with a remap. In fact you had better put a new one on before the remap!!

I had similar noise a few times but since I cleaned up the EGR I haven't had it again. My guess with mine was that it was sticking open when switching off allowing exhaust gasses to pressurise the intake side when it shouldn't be pressurised. Was noisy through the air filter housing. But that is just a guess for mine.
