Hi. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? At tickover and low engine speeds the air box housing on my van ('96 1.9 TD) is very noisy……its a deep, hollow thrumming vibration sound and it quite annoying. If I pop the bonnet with the engine idling and push down on the filter box, the noise goes away, or of I disconnect the flexi pipe from it, it goes away. The box doesnt seem loose and the filter and lid appear to be seated correctly, it just seems to need pushing or weighed down somehow to stop it vibrating. Any ideas folks? :*

It may well be the top half of the air box is not being pulled down tight.
Try a couple of small bits of foam between the upper and lower parts of the air box and then tighten down byusing the clips and see if this cures it
