What's classed as a mod for insurance purposes?

Would a gear Stick extension make your insurance void if you didn't notify them?

I wouldn't have thought so :*

But, if you tell them everything (longwinded and boring i know) you have no comeback T:

Mod = anything non OEM

I remember the 80's when the insurance companies went hot hatch crazy, remember tales of them avoiding paying because someone had added a pinstripe detail strip along each side of their Cosworth without informing them, voiding the policy because of the 'undelclared' mods :eek:

Now this was an extreme case from the daily mail or some such, backed up by Max redline power, but declare everything, in writing, no worries then Y:

As to it being void now if you didn't inform them, why risk it for a gear extension, I'm sure in the small print somewhere they have a clause saying any undeclared non standard modifications could void the policy :(

but then I am a sheep:eek:
