I was looking for a small and simple canopy to provide a little shelter and storage for those "its sunny lets go" last minute decision one nighters and i didnt think my outwell was worth putting up when and I came across this.
Hopefully I will be trying it out tomorrow and will report back with some pics and my verdictT:
Ive got the Gillert canopy which is very similar. I found for a day option its fine but on an overnight it doest have a door so you have to store all the stuff you have in it back in the van. There`s a few out there which are identical but with a front door .
Looks good mate - can you tell me what the packed size is please and if you wanted to move the van, can you leave it standing safely, or would you need to take it down?
I would say the bag is around 1 meter and around 25 cm in girth I'm just having to guess as I'm away with work at the moment..
The canopy came with a couple of extra guide ropes and there are eyelets on the beadside so you might be able to disconnect drive away while somebody holds the Pole up then retention and peg down, but I think it would be a bit a bugga to do.
Cheers ...Andy
Just come back from 10 days 200 miles through Spain and France and used this canopy every night. Easy to put up, and lets you leave the sliding door open overnight for ventilation even if it rains. Recommended.
Hi. I've been looking into one of these for my SWB T5. The canopy spec suggests it is 3m long ( which I'm sure is longer than the straight roof section of a T5. I was wondering what length of rail / attachment you found you needed for the canopy tech 200.
The method i used was 3 lengths of figure 8 slid onto the awning bead then clicked onto the vw roof prep channel that screws into the van roof channel.
The bead over hangs the roof prep rail by appox 8 inches on either side as it does with my outwell awning i will be fitting the cali rail this season as its easier to use:ILU:
Ye that's my last van it's a swb fits no problems.
