Plz help find thermostat location on 2.5 tdi t5

Hi everyone plz can u help me locate where is the theromstat
For the cooling system is as my van has had the heating light flash on the dash and i checked under the bonnet and the water was low and no fan was kicking in? I recently had the gas topped up on air con but not sure if it had anything to do with it! I brought a new thremostat but cnt find where it is? Any help would be much appreciated

Thermostat is on rear of the engine block , if the coolant level is dropping you have a leak the thermostats if failed would not allow the engine to heat up as indicated on your temp gauge that should sit at 90 ! Light comes to show coolant level low as you no .

My auto data link below is a 2.5 manual just click to view/download but for a t4 not sure if there similar
