Heres my new T4
ok, I thought I would post a few pictures of my new (to me) T4 to record 'how it was' before the work started.
Structurally and engine wise it is solid as a rock and in really good order.
Bodywork is also good in terms of very little rust though it has had paint on the OS main panel I believe due to signwriting not coming off.
It has also had a small amount of paint at the bottom right of the sliding door and its obviously been done by a clueless botcher as its never been a colour match :c
It has only had 2 keepers and was for most of its life owned by a computer solutions company, so its not been worked very hard.
Interior shots I will post but the interior is nice and clean.
First jobs are to get it back into very clean original condition.
Starting with -
A full detail of the van to try and remove the oxidisation that occurs over the years - then seal it with some quality products. (unsure which at the mo as Im trying to find out which is best at 'protecting' the colour.
I will prep it for paint and have the door bottom half professionally resprayed by a good friend who is a quality car sprayer by trade. Also anything else I find will be prepped by me (Ive done quite a bit of car bodywork for past resto projects and am quite good at it) and fixed at the same time to hopeefully make the bodywork like new (or near enough)
The stereo is a joke original radio unit! The radio refuses to pick up anything at all and I have been told that the bottom of the aerials often rust and hence no signal to the unit? Im going to look into this but a new headunit, amplifier and some quality speakers and tweeters are a priority job.
Then Im going fit some comfier seats. Possibly using the Impreza seat guide posted by a forum member...
Then the real work starts
