Ouch. Cost me 750e in France to have one replaced and fitted.
I hear they are around 300 for the pump.

I am almost 100% sure that all 1.9 model steering pumps are the same whether they had aircon or not - its the 2.5 models that need different pumps depending if they are fitted with aircon or not. Someone will be along shortly to confirm this I hope. The spare one I have came from a breakers and had 40k on the clock - mine turned out to just need a new belt so its surplus. I would sell for what I paid for it which was £70.

Right I have had a look at it and the number on the body is 7H0 422 154 F ES, and there is also a number on the pulley which is 038 145 255 B. Hope this helps.

on the subject off pumps,does anyone know if the three hex bolts on the pas pump pulley are in metric or imperial sizes.i tried a 7mm and seemed tiny fraction too big,6mm seemed too tinybit too small soo wandering if i need a 1/4 inch hex???i have a 1.9td 98 model.
