i have a t5 2,5 tdi 174bhp
the radiatorfans are on max all the time when the engine is running. first i got a tip that the presuresensor on the ac was broken.
but it didnt help to change it.

were is the fanreley located?

anyone got any ideas whats wrong??

Hi mate. Its prob the coolant sensor in bottom of rad. This happened to mine. Very easy and cheap fix. Hope this helps.

when i talked to the vwshop he said that i didnt have a sensor in the rad?!?!?

Both mine were constantly on. There is a sensor on ours (2.5 130) in rad at bottom pass side. Dead easy to change. Held in with a circlip/prong type thing....Matt

today i replaced the sensor in the rad... fans still running on max.

do i have to clear the errorcodes when i change a sensor?

There is a tempeture sensor located in the bumper.Check that the connection is ok.There is also a connection between the bumper and the body located in front of the drivers wheel.Hope this helps

why would the bumpersensor start the radfans?

I had this problem when the connection on the bumper came undone.From what i can gather if the ecu cannot read the sensor it sends the rad into safe mode.

i have no errorcode on the bumpersensor.

BUT... i have errorcodes on the pressuresensor on the ac and the airqualitysensor. shortcut or connected to ground it says??
the acsensor is new but it did`t get any better.
