I had to replace the fuse for the radio/lights/clock etc, as it blew when my alternator belt snapped the other day (fun!)

When I turn the radio on, "SAFE" is displayed for a short time, followed by the requirement to enter a 4 digit code... looked everywhere in the manual but no joy.

Does anyone know how I can determine the code?

try taking the radio out, some dealers write it on top of the unit, worth a look. mine was the same after a pricey new battery, left the radio off for 3 days and it sorted its self out..

Sorted it...

Rang VW, and despite other posts saying they charge £25, they gave me the code for free.

Just needed to supply them with: the radio serial number (printed on the side of the unit, starting with VW); the vehcile chassis number (starting in WV); and the vehicle reg.

phoned me back wih the code 5 minutes later...

might be branch dependent, so try the Bradford one - 01274 863770
