Ok so I've had the exhaust flex changed today because every time I went over bumps or uneven road I heard this annoying rattle. To say it's not driving me crazy is an understatement!

I've got a 2011 T5 LWB, it sound like it's coming from near the front wheel and my mechanic mate has checked underneath and can't see anything else apart from the heat shields looking knackered from the previous owner, anyone would think he went rallying in it from the looks over the underneath.

My question is has anyone else had these issues and what have been the causes so I can check these areas tomorrow before I depart for Italy.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also can I get away with just getting rid of the messy heat shields?

Had a tinny/metallic rattle on mine and it turned out to be a drop link

I would have sworn it sounded like one of the brake disc shields rattling
