Looking at either 245/45 or 255/45 to go on my RR 8J 18 alloys. Standard suspension. Would also consider 50 if these fit and are easy enough to find.

Any recommendations?

I run 255/45 uniroyal rainsport 3s and am happy with them, on standard suspension. Also have them on the car in 19". Shop around and can be had for a good price.

thanks. they look good. Strange but many posts including this site show the 245/45 tyres on an 18 being a closer match to the standard 205/65 16's, yet a lot of members have gone for the 255 or even the 235/50 which is an even bigger difference..

205/65R16 is rarely seen (T26 and T28?). Usually the typical factory tyre is 215/65R16C. Best ride will be 215/65R16 (no C) as seen on base Caravelles. 235/55R17 (No C again) will be next. Compliance is in the sidewall height so 255/45R18 will be better than 245/45R18 . I cant use 235/50 on my van so cant comment on those.

205/65 is the standard size for 16's on the T28. I am trying to keep to the same rolling radius and going by the chart someone posted in the wheels thread sticky and also willtheyfit site, 245/45 seems a closer match than 255/45 which is why I'm wondering why many go for the latter and the sportlines come with these tyres

245/45 R18 678 mm 2130 mm 0.71 %
255/45 R18 687 mm 2158 mm 2.05 %
