Most stereos you buy have a short loom to the ISO connectors.... this just plugs into the connectors behind your dash... job done.

Replaced mine with an Alpine unit recently... took 25 mins and that was taking it slow and fixing the cage for new unit as never dealt with a T4 before!

Hi sorry to hijack the thread, but sdo you need any specialist tools to get the orginal stereo out. I have the cassette deck in my 02 2.5tdi. I have some old tools i got for past head unit but none of them look applicable to this.
Due a new headunit anyday, come on postman!!!

Cheers

swaped mine over this eve, mine was a tape dec aswell it had one poit at the top left that had to be relised.just fine something thin and flat to slide down the hole or alternativly unscrew the faceing bit and just flick the thing with a screwdriver and it pops out.

the plugs did go right in the back of the iso no wories but it does need the two wires switching as it is loosing its memorey. just got to figer which two it is.it was a very quick job

next is to figer were to run a power lead from bat to amp and then the sigle ones from headunit to amp.
