Hi Folks,

I'm looking at replacing some ball joints and bushes on my T4, and looking at the parts diagram, there are a couple of big saddle bushes that support the inner end of the torsion bar springs on the front suspension. They don't cost much at all, but I am not sure on the process for actually replacing them. So, has anyone ever done it, or had it done at a garage? If it is an easy job, like replacing the drop links, I can do that myself, but if it involves specialist tools, and a lot of arsing around, I'll get them done at a garage...

If it is possible to DIY, then any helpful tips and pointers would be useful thanks!

Cheers

That's great, thanks for the quick response! One further question though, is if I have the van up and on axle stands, when I wind the big nuts off the end of their threaded bars, are the torsion arms still under any great tension? I think what I am getting at, is do they need "compressing" as it were, when replacing the big nuts?

Cheers
Andy
