yes it can but it is a bit of work, new rack, pump and bracket drive pulley for pump, fluid header. I think the sub frame need to be dropped also to get the clearance, bit of a job but it is doable, lol.
There is a possibly easier option but not sure if its been done.
Cars like the Mini have electronic steering assist.
It is basically a motor that goes on the steering column.
May be worth a look, there are plenty of newer cars using this method now as there is less
strain on the engine so more fuel efficiency etc.
oh right, cheers for the replies / info...my mrs was being a bit thick and a bit weak when she picked the van up from its old owner. it has power steering, i must admit it hardly had any fluid in it but there is deffo power steering on it! :ILU:
