i've had my 2010 Crafter for about 3 years now and i'm pretty happy with it overall.

Living in West Wales, with a base also in Brittany it's pretty unusual for me to bother to lock the truck. But when I do I have always used the central locking fob.

Out of curiosity, yesterday, I tried locking and unlocking the van with the key. It was having none of it, will that be a sensor in the door??

It occured to me same time that I don't have a spare key, taking a wild guess, this is likely to be open wallet surgery. Has anyone got any ideas?

A bit of a "duh" moment, Einstein here had been trying to open the front drivers door with the key and I could hear the electronics click but the key was just spinning.

There is if course also a REAR locking door. Trying that, it was clear the key had not been used for a good while. but the door unlocked and the door locked.

So at some point possibly in service, the front door lock had failed, someone had replace the barrel and thrown the key away. Checking the bay of evil, they are not giving crafter / sprinter locks away, I might get a smith to have a look and see if they can cut a key for the front lock, or (most likely) I will just live with it.
