Hi, I have heard that some campsites don't allow awnings with sewn in groundsheets.
Has anyone had problems with this or heard of it ?

I think a sewn in groundsheet suits me better as might want to put up on non-grass so no pegs - with sewn in groundsheet at least we can just put some heavy things in each corner (lead weights etc... as am a scuba diver) and it'll hold the awning in place.

Cheers,
J.

Some campsites in mainland Europe as for "grass friendly" (ie mesh) ground sheets to be used.

They usually apply the rule to extra ground sheets in caravan awnings and the like.

I have never had, or heard of the rule being applied to tents or van awnings with sewn in ground sheets. :ILU:

I think they may be referring to the Footprint groundsheets put down under your tent/awning groundsheet. Used one under our family tent then bought one with our awning for the van.

Not sure what difference it makes but if it keeps them happyT:
