Just had my twin seat base powder coated. Not impressed with the finish to be honest. Ive restored a few motorbikes and have had frames and other parts blasted and coated so I know how it should look. The seat base was rusty in all the usual places ie at the bottom edges where it sits on the matt. I thought the blasting would have got this rusted area smooth to the touch but it still looks bubbly. Ive got a small shotblast kit myself and I'm sure I could have got it smoother. The actual powder coat isn't too bad. I guess you get what you pay for. It was only £50. Is it fair to assume they should have got it smooth as the rest of the metal before coating or am I being unrealistic ?

We could have sorted you a nearly new base for £30

Have you still got any in good condition then ? I may be interested if they are mint. Also any idea why I cant now clunk the flip seat base back into position ? Just cant work it out. Driving me mad.
