so i've chopped out the outer skin on my new sliding door and i think i now have 3 options:
bond the skins to
  • gether
  • spot weld the skins together
  • plug weld the skins together

each has issues as far as i can see...

bonding is easiest, but how do i get the bonding gack in once i've dressed the outer skin back to meet the inner? i don't want to just squeeze it in and then clamp the skins without dressing back. i can see that now the factory bonding is removed below the window, when i press the skins together with my fingers i can see the outer skin just bends.

spot weld is next easiest, but do i have to somehow remove the paint and clean up the metal between the skins first? if so, how?

plug welding i can do myself with none of the above worries, but it'll take an age leaving me with loads of tidying up to do.

anyone got any advice?
cheers

We knock the outer skin so it sits closer to the inner skin you can then open the gap back up and apply your bond in between the skins then clamp together not to tight that works for use with great results
If you need anymore info you can call me Tel 07837569683 and ill talk you through it.
