I have been packing the van with insulation etc for this weekend Beaulieu meeting and noticed a leak from the plastic bung/stop on the LHS of my T5 LWB van. Its clearly part of the sliding door mechanism. My problem is I now need to get the metal trim panel off to re-seal it with some mastic. Does anyone know (preferably with pics) how I do this? It looks like I remove the bolt at the opening end and the panel slides off from the back. Meanwhile do I need to remove the door etc to get at it?

Thanks for your help, van build stops until I know the answer.

Hi there.
Yes your right about the screw at the end. there is another one at the other end too but you have to remove the rear light cluster I think to get to it. Just remove these and then pull as it is secured with rubber locators. I had mine off for a respray the other week although I also had the door off aswell so dont know if you could take it off with it on. I cant see why not though as its only a cover plate and not part of the mechanism.
Good luck
