Hi
I’m looking for any tips advice on my 2.4aab deisel 1998 t4
It all works great cruises no problem on flat but as soon as I hit an incline it drops speed with me then having to drop gears.
I’ve read other posts suggesting pump timing maf sensors etc.
any tips advice would be great.
on another note. It gives me nearly 700 miles to a full tank of fuel.
brilliant on the mpg. Should I accept the gear dropping just in case I change something that gives me less mpg or is this usual mpg for these Vans.
thanks.

theres no 'maf' sensor on the 2.4, the 2.4 is a 'dumb' mecanically controlled 'IDI' engine:(

when was it last serviced?
air & fuel filters are cheaply replaced & make a diference on these, also whats the cam / injection pump timing like as this really makes the 2.4 wake up (y)

if thats all good it's worth checking that the exhaust is not blocked (silencer baffles clogged or collapsed) - easily tested by loosening the exhaust joints & test-driving...

BUT remember, the 2.4 is a slug, will get you there slowly (68 hp??) not a modern powerfull engine:rolleyes:
