As we're one car short at the moment, and Shaz needed the car for a fizzy-o appointment, I took the van to work this morning.

I pulled out onto the main road, the throttle pedal seemed to stick a bit (the engine held revs when between gears) so I pulled it up with my toe, I stuck my foot down to pull up the hill and it dropped straigh to the floor. @rse!

I pulled over and had a look ubder the bonnet, the cable was very loose and a poke about under the dash revealled the cable had snapped about 50mm from the pedal.

I managed to get the van back home by driving it at tick over and changing up when it built a bit of momentum (with the cold start up level out for a few mor revs).

Has this happened to anyone else and how do I go about fixing it i.e. is it just the cable or does the whole lot - inner and outer - have to be cahnged?

Cheers
Pete

Happened on my old 1.9TD, and sounds like the same place.

Cable is a "special" for that model, GSF do them.

Very easy to change.

I changed mine last week, Took me 20 mins to fit,

I bought it from VW, as there are several versions available, They also have an electrical connection under bonnet

Cost me £35 for a genuine one complete. T:
