OK its not a T4, but number 2 son just parked his Focus 1.8TDCI next to my multivan so its related...sort ofA:
But he had sparks drifting out from his exhaust. When he reved the engine a cluster of burning sparks (Particulates I assume) came from the exhaust. He had just driven back from work so the engine was hot.
I can only think it has a particulate filter that burns them off when the exhuast is up to full temp. But I have never seen it on any other diesel I have owned do this. I believe some newer diesels have particulate burners.
It stopped after a while of ticking over and everything looks right with no warning lights and it sounds fine.
Any one got any thoughts ????:*
