I hope someone can help me with the following query.

Vehicle: 2002 T4 Transporter Caravelle. 2.5TDi.

Speakers: Installing Ripspeed 102 4" speakers. Replacing dash top speakers, also 4".

Threre are two knurled nuts on the back of the Ripspeed speakers. One has a coloured red band, and the other black.

The left hand side van speaker has two wires; one blue and one brown. I believe speaker performance will be better if I connect the positive wire to the red/(=positive) side of the speaker.

My question is should I connect the blue or brown wire to the red indicated side of the speaker?

P.S. The driver's side speaker wires had one of the wires with a red stripe in it and I duly connected this to the red/positive side of the speaker.

Many thanks for all replies.

The brown should be the negative for all speakers...(should be).
As long as you use the same wiring system for all speakers, it doesn't really matter...ie; if you have rear speakers also...use the same colour wire to the negative all around.
