Hi
Think my leisure battery isnt being charged through the split charging system (put in b4 I had the van)
I tested it by connecting a multimeter across my batt, then starting the engine, including revving it up, and no difference - does this mean its not working?
I also tested the cables to the battery when disconnected from the batt - same
Could there be an inline fuse somewhere, and if thats ok, I guess the split charge relay is duff
Any ideas on where to get a decent one?
my leisure batt is 85amp and is a new one

Does sound like your leisure battery is not charging.
The way to check is to put your meter on the main battery when it is running (I think it should go up to about 13-14v) If your leisure is not reading the same, then it is not charging.
I would rip it out & get a Voltage sensing relay. They are not cheap, but easy to fit & they just work.

thanks guys - might well invest in one of those VSR jobbies - I got p---d off with trying to suss out the split charging prob and have put the van into my local VW garage to sort it - pretty sure he can do it and will see how it goes for a while - great info on that thread cheers again
