Cant decide to carry on or just for easiness slap a bit of black paint on and invest in some new steelies

It will take forever to do and there will be nicks in it but has anyone done this themslefs? Quite like the shine that comes up but bare steelies but will it just rot quicker then i do it?

If you want a quick result and make the wheels look better from a few feet and avoid spending the cash, you could invest in a large pot of smooth black Hammerite and a couple of brushes, plus masking tape for tyre edge and valve.
Wouldn't hurt. Only be a temp job, but would look a lot better

Personally, I'd forget the bare metal finish. Look fine until a few spots of rain. Be wasting your time.

As they are early rims , why not get them blasted / powdercoated / painted , if circumstances allow ..?? They are an appreciating asset , after all ... !!
