It’s going to be part (on top) of the starter motor I suspect

I've just replaced the starter motor on mine and rebuilt the old one as the brushes failed at 53,000 miles.

There is a solenoid on top of the starter motor which is fed by a thin 12V exciter wire, but no starter relay that I can see.
